Two people who’ve done both jobs.

Good Morning Creative is deliberately small. Two directors, no account managers, no layers between you and the people shooting or editing your project.

Before starting the business, we worked in newsrooms and inside communications, content and marketing teams. We've sat on both sides of the brief and understand how to make life a bit easier for you.

We love the art of filmmaking, but the camera is only part of it. The real work is finding the story, asking the right questions and knowing what belongs in the final edit.

Our Team

Matt Nelson

Director

Matt spent years as a broadcast camera operator for Nine News, covering breaking news and major events in Australia and internationally, and was graded a Specialist ENG operator — the level reserved for operators trusted with stories that can't be reshot. He then moved in-house at Bunnings as Content Lead, producing video for staff and customers and running the technical side of their internal studio. He's shot live news, and he's sat through the internal review meeting on the receiving end. He knows both jobs.

Director

Michael Scanlan

Michael was a senior reporter for Seven News, filing stories locally and internationally on daily deadlines — the kind of job that teaches you to find the real story fast, and to tell it with heart, not just facts. He then moved client-side — first as Head of Media and Digital for some of the Victorian Government's largest transport infrastructure projects, then as Head of Content and Digital Channels at Bunnings. He's pitched a story to a chief of staff, and he's been the chief of staff deciding whether a story runs. That newsroom instinct still shapes every brief he writes.
